WebBlast is tonight!

..but no doubt you’re all aware of that.

Just a quick bit of housekeeping, if you can have your tickets with you, that will speed up getting you in.  Also if you can try not to all come at 6.01 that would be lovely, there should be plenty of beer to go round for a while!

Just also for those of a Microsoft persuasion, there will be several MS people there to answer any questions about their upcoming REMIX event in June.  If it’s anything like the Las Vegas one a couple of weeks back, there should be quite a bit of buzz around with IE9 and HTML5 and the like.

Anyway looking forward to seeing everyone tonight,

Alan, Caryn and Joe

webblast March event tickets available on Friday morning

After much planning, we can finally officially announce details for the first WebBlast of 2010.

Date: 25 March 2010
Time: 6pm – 11pm
Venue: Pumphouse, Darling Harbour
Cost: FREE!!

The next webblast has been scheduled and locked in for late March so warm up your vocal chords, and brush up on your card-handing-out skills. Tickets will be made available on Friday morning so set your alarms, follow @webblastsyd, and be aware of the twitter buzz so you can secure your place. The link to tickets will be posted on this site Friday morning at 9AM.

Our first 2010 event will be a relaxed and open event, geared towards mingling, making new friends in the industry and finding out more about what people are experiencing in their own spheres of expertise. As always, a great place to learn more about your fellow web professionals. If you haven’t been before, the Pumphouse is an excellent venue and there’s plenty of room to spread out and chat with your peers. There will be a free bar (until the tab runs out!) and some finger food.

We have our first 2010 sponsor, Happener, who have committed sponsoring us through the year, carrying on from their stellar suport since we started the events on a shoestring and a contact list, back when it was a WSG Casual event. Many thanks to Greg and Markus for their generous and passionate support for webblast. In addition, Campaign Monitor continues to support webblast (remember those great t-shirts from xmas?) as do SassySEO/The Rohans, who have always supported in spirit, and more recently as a sponsor.

..and we’re done! WebBlast Xmas ’09 SOLD OUT

Wow.

All tickets went in record time this morning – thanks to everyone who has registered. We’ll send another email out in the next day or so outlining the plan (how you get in, all that kind of stuff) – as well as introducing our lovely sponsors.

In the meantime, as this is now totally subscribed, if you can’t go for whatever reason, please recycle your ticket by letting us know at contact@webblast.com.au. We’ll let people know of any spaces becoming available through our @webblastsyd twitter account, so watch that space if you’re ticketless.

cheers

New WebBlast Site Launches!

You may know WebBlast from the excellent annual Christmas parties organised by Russ Weakley on behalf of WIPA.  Well, we’ve decided you should have a bit more of a good thing, and have expanded the event out to be much more regular.  In fact, every couple of months or so.  We think there isn’t a networking night in Sydney that covers all people involved in the web industry, or if there is, it doesn’t happen anywhere near often enough.  So here we are, and our first event is timed perfectly to co-incide with Australian Web Week, and the fabulous Web Directions South conference.  In fact, we’re holding the inaugural event on the middle night of the conference!

And the best bit?  It’s absolutely, utterly FREE OF CHARGE.  All you need to do is register over there at EventBrite, and we’ll see you there!

We’re holding it at the PumpHouse Bar in Darling Harbour, which is between the Chinese Gardens and the Sydney Entertainment Centre.  Just over the road in fact from the conference itself, so you don’t have to worry about transport to the venue.  We’re starting after the drinks at the conference finish (around 8pm).

Be sure to tell your friends and colleagues, every WebBlast previously has ‘sold out’ well before the night, so don’t just hope to rock up after the conference and hope for the best.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Alan & Joe
